Het creatieproces gebeurt in golfbewegingen, in opstoten van veel en weinig, van het experiment met de materie en de verf naar nieuwe technieken en mogelijkheden. Het zoekproces is eindeloos.
“Er kwam ruimte vrij, zodat er zich iets kon ontwikkelen dat er reeds lang was.”
Ik kwam in een nieuwe levensfase terecht, waarin ik mijn creativiteit verder kon ontwikkelen.
Ik greep terug naar het sculpturale werk uit klei.
De inspiratie drong zich op, zomaar uit het niets.
Wat ver achter mij lag kwam opnieuw tot leven en ik kon weer spelen en puzzelen met vormen.
In het verleden werkte ik vaak in projecten rond een afgebakend thema.
Het schilderen is altijd een constante geweest doorheen mijn oeuvre, maar de liefde voor het ruimtelijke werk, onder andere met klei, is altijd gebleven.
De nieuwe creaties presenteer ik als feeërieke wandsculptuurtjes in verschillende vormen en kleuren, overwegend in goud. Ze worden tentoongesteld in vakjes geschilderd in hetzelfde subtiel kleurenpalet. Zo ontstaat er een magische, sprookjesachtige wereld.
De overeenkomst met het kleurgebruik in mijn schilderijen is nooit ver weg.
Je kunt deze driedimensionale vormen zowel figuratief als abstract bekijken, maar eigenlijk doet dit er niet toe.
Het gaat vooral om een streven naar uitpuren tot een essentie, nazar verdieping en verinnerlijking.
Onmiskenbaar is er ook een filosofische en spirituele dimensie aanwezig. De poëtische titels zijn suggestief en onthullen een tipje van de sluier.
De vormgeving van mijn kleiwerk zal ik in de toekomst ongetwijfeld integreren in mijn schilderijen.
Zo zal ik opnieuw tot een harmonieuze eenheid komen en is de cirkel rond.

The creation process happens in waves, in bursts of abundance and scarcity, from experimenting with materials and paint to exploring new techniques and possibilities. The searching process is endless.
“Space became available for something to develop that had been there for a long time.”
I entered a new phase in my life, in which I could further develop my creativity.
I returned to the sculptural work from clay.
The inspiration came suddenly, out of the blue.
Something from the past became alive again and I could start playing and puzzling with shapes like I used to do.
Formerly I had often worked in thematic projects.
Painting has always been a constant factor throughout my life, but the love for three-dimensional work, including with clay, has always remained.
I present the new ceramics as wall sculptures in different shapes and colors, mainly in gold. They are displayed on shelves painted in subtle, matching colors, thus creating a world of wonder and magic.
The similarity with the use of colors in my paintings is never far away.
You can view this three-dimensional work both figuratively and abstractly, but actually this doesn’t matter.
It is mainly about a striving for reaching an essence, towards deepening and inwardness.
Surely there is also a philosophical and spiritual dimension. The poetic titles may suggest or reveal meaning.
The design of my clay work will undoubtedly be integrated into my paintings in the future.
Thus I shall once again arrive at a harmonic unity and the circle will be complete.
